Our Story – Morne Edwards
Asking for help does not come easily to me, but our journey has brought me to a place where I can no longer do this alone. I am sharing our story with the hope that you may understand our situation and, if possible, help us through the most difficult time of our lives.
My husband, Morne Edwards, has lived with severe back pain since 2019. For years, he pushed through the pain and continued working, even as it worsened. Doctors repeatedly said he was too young for surgery. By early 2024, however, the pain had become unbearable. It radiated from his back down his right leg, leaving him barely able to walk. No medication could ease his suffering.
On 30 April 2024, Morne was admitted for an urgent back operation—a Laminectomy L4–S1 decompression and fusion. We believed this surgery would finally give him relief and allow him to live normally again. Instead, a few days later, on 5 May 2024, our lives changed forever. Morne collapsed and became unresponsive. An MRI confirmed that he had suffered a major stroke, complicated by secondary epileps...
