Musimela

Musimela was started by Sibusiso Jaca, born out of deep frustration with the way the music industry has been built especially in Africa.

For years, the system has asked artists to create, promote, and grow their music, yet very few actually earn enough to survive. Even more painful is the reality that many African music legends, whose work shaped our culture and sound, passed away broke, despite their music generating value for others.

This raised a difficult but necessary question:

Was the music industry ever truly built for artists to make money  especially African artists?

Musimela exists to challenge that reality.

The platform is designed to introduce a fair, transparent, minute-based earning system where artists get paid for real listening time, not vanity numbers. The goal is simple but powerful: to make it possible for even a young artist with just 1,000 streams to earn something meaningful  enough to put food on the table and keep creating.
