2025 Absa Cape Epic here I come!!!
My journey with cycling started quite as it does for many, with a bike that goes forward with a forward pedal stroke and breaks with backward pedal stroke("Skee" as we would say as we did nothing else but try and see who could “Skee” the furthest). As a wise man once said: "a bike is meant to be pedaled forward"
After that it was the BMX phase with tricks (at least the attempting of tricks). The pegs on the back for my bike for my friends to stand on and the also races down the street to see who is the fastest ensued. I was privileged enough to live close to my school to be able to cycle back and forth from home.
