Baby Hayden
Little Hayden was born at 32 weeks premature. Mom was having contractions and the hospital did everything they could to keep him inside her tummy longer, as well as using steroids to develop his lungs in case he did need to come out. Unfortunately after every attempt made on Sunday night at 10:30, mom started to experience more severe contractions. Even with these attempts were made to keep baby inside however it soon became clear there were no more options but to have an emergency c section and take Hayden out for moms and babies safety. This procedure took place at midnight.
Baby Hayden was born and healthy but he needed to be taken straight to the NiCU at Wilgeheuwel to give him the treatment he needed. Mom and dad contacted their health insurance One plan to get cover for this however were told that they only cover R75000 of this stay and after speaking with the hospital this is equivalent to a 2 night stay in NICU.
