Neels van Schalkwyk, also known as Fran and Row’s dad, received a Bone Marrow Cancer diagnosis earlier in 2023, leaving us devastated. The Warriors extended family united for a journey involving tests, transfusions, chemo, and enduring weeks of isolation in a distant city hospital.

Recently, a miraculous donor from Germany emerged—a 1 in 100,000 chance in South Africa. This grants us the hope of a procedure early in the new year, allowing us to spend Christmas with our dad. However, we anticipate more months of preparation, obstacles, and isolation, including December's visits with increased precautions.

While our medical aid covers most costs, we remain R125,000 short by December 2023's end to make Neels’ life-changing transplant a reality.
