As the prospective treasurer of Stellenbosch University's Neurodiversity Society (SUNDS), I have compiled this campaign on the Society's behalf to request from the public any funds they are willing to donate towards our registration fee of R900.
Neurodivergence is a spectrum of diverse mental or neurological functions that are considered "atypical", as 15-20% of the world's population exhibit some form of neurodivergence. Neurological conditions that fall within this spectrum include (but are not limited to): Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and in some cases, anxiety and depression.
SUNDS is a student-led, community-driven Stellenbosch University society. Our purpose on campus is to create an inclusive community wherein neurodivergent students can feel safe and accommodated for, by advocating for our members' needs to help them achieve their academic potential (such as sensory-friendly environments to study in). We aim to achieve this goal by giving a voice to our neurodivergent community on campus and holding campaigns and works...
