Nellie needs new wheels!
I have worked with Nellie for over 5 years and she is one of the most inspirational young ladies I have ever met. Nellie has a tragic story and with her permission I am able to give context. Nellie was left a paraplegic after a car knocked her over in a hit and run incident when she was 8 years old.
Unfortunately her mom was not able to look after her and she has been a ward of the state ever since. In all the years I have known her, she has not allowed life’s tough blows (and there have been many) to get her down. She is independent, positive and kind.
We are aiming for an amount of R26,000 (includes VAT and delivery charges) which will buy her the wheelchair she requires. Nellie had an electric wheelchair which is now broken and cannot be repaired so she is back to a manual wheelchair which is taking it's toll on her body.
