Nick Bold—a devoted partner, father, and hardworking family man—is facing the toughest battle of his life. After a series of health scares misdiagnosed as everything from a severe reaction to toxins to tick-bite fever, the truth was far more devastating: Nick has a Grade 4 Glioblastoma.
The Journey So Far
Nick’s symptoms began subtly while working abroad to support his family. After relocating to Mpumalanga for a fresh start, his health took a sharp turn. What was initially thought to be a migraine or meningitis was revealed by an MRI to be a 5cm brain tumour.
The family rushed Nick to Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, where he underwent emergency surgery. While surgeons successfully removed 80% of the mass, the biopsy confirmed our worst fears: Glioblastoma is an aggressive, fast-growing cancer that is notoriously difficult to treat with standard protocols.
