About This Campaign

Hi everyone,
My name is Nicola and I am 28 years old. Most people either know me as the quiet family member reading a book somewhere in the shade, or if I've been fortunate enough to meet you through work you know that I have a passion for writing and an even bigger one for telling other people's stories.
I am struggling to put to words what is happening to me, but I will try my best to sum it up. I apologize if I ramble.
In 2019 I was diagnosed with a form of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. Specifically Gardner's Syndrome. This came with a lot of symptoms like osteomas, multinumary teeth, benign growths and tumors. And most importantly, hundreds if not thousands of polyps in my colon (and smaller intestine). These polyps had a 100% chance of becoming early onset colon cancer.
Within a month of my diagnosis I had a laprascopic subtotal colectomy where they basically connected my small bowel to the last part of my colon, my rectum.
I then went for routine checkups to ensure my my remaining polyps don't turn to cancer. ...
