Niel’s recovery journey

I hate asking for help, but right now we truly need it. Financially we are struggling and the bills for treatment continue to stack up.

In 2025, our lives changed overnight when my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumour. We had only been married for a year and a few months when our world was turned upside down.

Since then, he has undergone seven surgeries and counting, including three major brain surgeries. The complications that followed were devastating. He lost almost everything he once took for granted and had to relearn how to walk, talk, swallow and even write again.

My husband is an educator who has always given his whole heart to his students and the people around him. His greatest dream is to one day return to the classroom and be physically active again.

After a long hospital stay and rehabilitation, we are so grateful that he is home and making progress, learning to walk and talk again, but the journey is far from over.
