Nigel is fading.
He’s confused, barely eating, and in constant, unrelenting pain.
After almost 8 years of fighting VEXAS Syndrome — through radiation, chemotherapy, countless surgeries, and a brutal skin cancer diagnosis — his body has finally had enough. He’s still here. But he can’t fight anymore.
For years, he and Debbi clung to one hope: that a bone marrow transplant would give him a real chance at life. Every cent they had — and plenty they didn’t — went toward getting him strong enough for that transplant. But when the time came, the doctors gave them devastating news: Nigel was too weak. The transplant was no longer an option....
