"I've got a plan. I'm planning to do a looong, loooong, long ride. Last year I done a ride in 6 days I rode 1500km for my Klipfontein Cycling Academy which is mostly boys. Now I want to increase to 3000km in 10 days. Ja, my aim is to ride for the girls in my location. Because in my community I can see there are lots of girls that don't do anything. They go to school, but now I can see that the end of the day they are getting into drugs and drinking, some of them are having sex and fall pregnant while they are still young. What I'm looking for is to change their life. I want to ride for them. To raise money to buy bikes for them, to show them a different way to make something in life. Not just to drink alcohol and do all of those things. To change their life and to clean their minds, and to show them how they can do better in life. So I'm thinking 3000km in 10 days!" - Nkosi Mpofu

Nkosi started Klipfontein Cycling Academy about 5 years ago. He has a full time day job as a bicycle mechanic and runs his own community based bicycle shop on the side. He uses his off-...
