Sustaining the Voice of a Homeland
I am organising this campaign on behalf of my brilliant artist, colleague and friend: the award-winning Palestinian composer Mahmoud Abuwarda.
Mahmoud’s work carries profound beauty, sorrow, and the unyielding hope of the Palestinian people. Today, however, he is writing in exile in Istanbul. While physical borders and displacement have forced him away, his music remains his loudest voice and strongest tether to Palestine.

Stripped of his roots, home, and community, Mahmoud is rebuilding his life from the ground up in a foreign city. The financial and emotional toll of accessing the musical tools he needs to continue composing are a relentless daily struggle.
