Olive

Olive is a 2 year old dapple Dachshund that has been left paralysed by an Intervertebral Disc Disease and Canine immune-mediated thrombocytopenia.

Olive was hospitalised on the 31st of December with acute lameness. Upon examination found conscious proprioception absent in all limbs, normo-reflective back legs, hypo front legs, she did not allow neck manipulation ventrally. The CT scan showed a large disc extrusion C2-3, centrally and extending caudally for half of C3. There was approximately 70% cord compression, which is considered critical.

She underwent a ventral slot surgery.

We have a Medical plan in place, but Olive is within her 6 month waiting period for this spesific procedure. Her surgeon, Dr Krafft is wrote a motivational letter to the Fund trying to settle a portion of the bill. Funds raised will go towards her hospital and recovery expenses including physiotherapy, EMS, laser and hydrotherapy.
