  • Little OLivia Pretorious was rushed to casualties on Friday where it was confirmed that she was in respiratory distress and showing signs of encephalitis. Olivia was stabalised and then moved via ambulance to St Augustines ICU. The family were forced to borrow money from family and friends to get her admitted as they are not on medical aid and to give her a fighting chance this was the best option.

Saturday 22 November 2025

Olivia had a CT scan that came out clear so a lumbar puncture was requested to confirm that Olivia has HHV6- encephalitis. Upon this diagnosis she has been moved into isolation and requires high care and round the clock monitoring. At this time she is in a state of reduced conciousness.

Monday 24 November 2025

Olivia's condition has deteriorated and she has had some worrying neurological activity. She is not responding to the medication. A peadiatric neurologist has oordered an EEG. In the interim she has been put on anti seizure meds.
