Olympic Games Paris 2024

I am currently in the South African national Rowing team and i’m headed to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

I started rowing in grade 8 at KES (2014) and had my first international debut in 2017 at the Junior World Rowing Champs.

I was trying to make the Olympic qualifying team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, when doctors found a blood clot in my lung. I had to stop all training and was told I may never get to row again. I took a year off to recover and it was probably the hardest time of my life, figuring out what I would do if I couldn’t row anymore, or do any sports at all.

When I found out that the clot was gone and got an all clear from doctors, I slowly started training again.

I went on to win gold at the u23 World Rowing Champs and broke the World Record in the Pair, in 2022. I won this with Damien Bonhage-Koen.
Myself and Damien had been rowing in a pair for nearly 8 years and we had achieved greatness together over the years, both at a school level and internationally.
