About This Campaign

One Blind Woman, One Brave Dog, One Big Dream 🐾
My name is Soonili, and I am totally blind.
When people hear that a blind person needs a dog, they often think of a guide dog. I understand why — I have had two wonderful guide dogs myself, Raisin and Mr V.
Raisin, my beautiful black Labrador, gave me independence and stood beside me through some of the hardest chapters of my life. Mr V, my golden retriever, became another unforgettable part of my family.
But today, I am looking for something different.
Why I need a medical alert assistance dog
I am not looking for another guide dog.
I already know how to navigate the world as a blind woman. What I need now is a medical alert assistance dog trained to help me with my individual disability-related needs.
A guide dog is trained primarily to help a blind person navigate safely.
An assistance dog can be trained to perform specific tasks that help with a person's disability.
For me, this could include recognising when I am becoming overwhelmed, providing deep-pressure support, helping with medication routine...
