Baby Zarah’s Brave Fight – Only 11 Months Old
Our beautiful baby girl, Zarah, is only 11 months old, and she has already shown more strength and courage than most people do in a lifetime.
It all started with what seemed like a common cold. Zarah was diagnosed with RSV, which quickly developed into severe pneumonia. After five frightening days in our local hospital, her tiny lungs were struggling so badly that doctors made the urgent decision to airlift her to a specialist hospital in Gauteng. There, they could give her the advanced care she desperately needed.
Once there, our little fighter was placed on full sedation, a ventilator to breathe for her, and a feeding tube. She spent four long weeks in the Intensive Care Unit, battling not only her failing lungs but also a dangerous superbug. The road was incredibly tough, but after everything she had endured, the day finally came when the doctors felt she was ready to be woken up and weaned off the ventilator.
