I am so grateful you are taking the time to read this campaign.

My name is Joanne (a Kiwi and living in Sth Africa) - I came across an 8 year old boy - Sanjeet Rai (he's the boy in the beanie on the right of the pic above)  in Khumjung while travelling in Nepal back in 2019.  Both he and his friend Dawa Sonam (6yrs - smaller boy on the left of the pic) were in desperate need of funding to enable them to go to school - Grade 1.  I was informed by both the teacher Pemba and the Principle at the time Mr Bastola of their plight and decided to help as best as i was able.  Upon meeting the mothers (both homeless and living on the occasional domestic work that could be found) i scratched together enough to be able to at least get the boys into school for the year.

Every year since 2019 to 2024,  i have given free yoga classes and generated some donations from generous souls to keep these boys in school (Here in South Africa many, many people are giving every day to alleviate the poverty that is right here on our very own doorstep...
