Sitting With Sisters NPC a Cape Town-based registered non-profit organisation that exists so that no revert Muslim woman has to navigate her faith alone.

A revert Muslim woman is someone who has chosen Islam, often leaving behind a non-Muslim family, a previous life, and sometimes even the safety of her home to follow her conviction. In South Africa, and particularly in Cape Town, these women frequently find themselves completely isolated. 

Our sisters have no Muslim mother to call when they don’t know how to make wudu correctly. No Muslim sister to sit with on Eid morning. No community to belong to during Ramadaan. Many of our sisters spend the holiest month of the Islamic year alone in their rooms, not because they want to, but because they simply have no one - that is the gap Sitting With Sisters was created to fill.
