Nestled on the banks of the mighty Orange River, Oranjerus Resort has been a cherished destination for locals and travelers alike—a peaceful haven where nature’s beauty, family warmth, and unforgettable memories come together. Founded by the Wiehahn family, Oranjerus became known not just for its picturesque setting, but for its welcoming restaurant, top-class camping facilities, and the special atmosphere that can only be found beside the life-giving waters of the Orange.

But our story, like the river, has been turbulent.

In 2011, a devastating flood swept through the resort, inflicting unimaginable damage. It took years to rebuild—brick by brick, hope by hope. Then came COVID-19, which brought the entire hospitality industry to its knees. Just as we began to breathe again, floods struck once more in 2021. And again in 2023. And now, in 2025, we are facing the harshest blow yet: another catastrophic flood.
