PAWS IN SERVICE SA 🇿🇦🐾
Standing behind the animals who stand beside our police.
This started with Sky.
Sky was one of South Africa's police dogs.
She wore no uniform. She received no salary. She didn't understand ranks, budgets or paperwork.
She simply did what she had been trained to do — serve.
Like SAPS dogs and horses across our country, Sky depended completely on people for her food, shelter, safety, veterinary care and, eventually, a dignified retirement.
Her story touched many South Africans. It touched us too.
It made us ask a simple question:
Who looks after the animals that spend their lives looking after us?
The Bible reminds us:
“The righteous care for the needs of their animals.” — Proverbs 12:10
Whether you are a person of faith or simply believe animals deserve kindness and dignity, the message is the same:
When an animal is placed in our care, we have a responsibility towards it.
And surely that responsibility is even greater when that animal has spent its life serving us.
