Peaks for Pads

Hi! We’re Erin and Micaela, and we’re taking on our own version of Cape Town’s Three Peaks Challenge on 16 August 2026

We’ll be climbing Devil’s Peak, Maclear’s Beacon and Lion’s Head in one day. That is 30 km and over 2,000 metres of elevation (and probably a fair amount of complaining along the way).

We’re calling it Peaks for Pads because we’re using this challenge to raise funds and collect sanitary pads in support of Mamma Flo and their work to fight period poverty.

Access to period products shouldn’t be a luxury. Yet for many people, it is.

A pack of sanitary pads costs anywhere from R15 to R110, and just R40 (around $2.40 or £1.80) can provide someone with a pack. That’s less than many of us spend on a morning coffee.
