Peter's Eye Procedure

Many of our incredible supporters will remember the heartbreaking day Teddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge after many years of loyal service.

Peter took it especially hard.

Peter is an invaluable member of Team Virginia SPCA. There is hardly an animal—wild or domestic—that he cannot safely bring to rescue. He simply does not know how to say "no." Day or night, rain or shine, Peter is there whenever an animal needs him.

Sadly, over time Peter has developed a severe cataract in his right eye. It progressed rapidly and has now left him able to see little more than light in that eye.

We are heartbroken for him.

Peter has dedicated so much of his life to helping others, yet he does not have medical aid. Losing his vision places not only his work at risk, but also his independence and quality of life.

We consulted a specialist who is able to perform the surgery as early as 10 August at a significantly reduced fee of R36,000. Under normal circumstances, this procedure would cost around R60,0...
