In a quiet rural village in South Africa, an extraordinary woman gave up her retirement savings to build a future for the children society had left behind. She founded PhathekaniKahle After Care, a safe haven where children come after school to get the help they need — to read, write, and dare to dream.

These are children who attend under-resourced public schools, where overcrowded classrooms and a lack of support have left many behind. PhathekaniKahle is where they come to catch up, to be seen, to be guided, and to be believed in.

But now, this place of hope is in danger.

The Health Department is threatening to shut down the school — because it doesn’t have proper toilets.

Imagine children eager to learn, having to return to the streets — not because of lack of effort, but because of something as basic as sanitation.

We urgently need your help to build flushing toilets for these children. Your donation could mean the difference between a child continuing their education or falling through the cracks.
