My father is 81 years old and urgently needs eye surgery.
Despite his age, he remains active, independent, and full of life. He still drives, does DIY work around the house, and faithfully cooks most of the meals for himself and my mother. Sadly, his eyesight has deteriorated rapidly, and with it, his ability to live independently.
We hoped that new glasses might help, but the optometrist confirmed that glasses are no longer an option. His eyes are severely affected by cataracts, and surgery is the only way forward.
His failing eyesight has begun affecting his balance. He has already fallen several times, and we live with the constant fear that the next fall could cause a serious injury.
By God’s grace, we have found a doctor in Pretoria who can perform the surgery, but we urgently need help to raise the necessary funds.
