On Mother’s Day in May 2017, a tragic motor vehicle accident left mom paralyzed and eldest daughter with severe brain trauma.
After a lengthy two and a half months in Intensive Care, followed by three months of in-patient rehabilitation and divorce, the family of four is left to adapt to the new “normal” lifestyle.
In December 2018, Pippa chose to relocate to Alberton, Johannesburg from Botswana, where the family lived, for intensive rehabilitation for Isabella (15 years) and herself (40 years). Margaret (12 years) and Elizabeth (8 years), along with Pippa’s mother, are overcoming daily challenges.
The family has been supported by family, friends and members of the community. They are grateful for the Trust Fund which helps to pay some medical expenses only.
Now the girls are looking to settle down into their own permanent home in Alberton. Pippa cannot work due to the fact that her hands are not functional so her fine motor skills are limited to the extent that she cannot even operate a computer. The family is entirely reliant on donations as th...
