My father is in end stage COPD, he has been suffering with labored breathing for many years and was first officially diagnosed in 2016 not knowing how long he had actually been suffering the disease for much longer.
The situation has now become dire and he is constantly battling with severe excaberations on a daily basis which has in turn caused severe panic attacks, over the last few years he has lost an immense amount of weight and and can not get from one part of the house to the other without feeling as though another severe exacberation might occur.
He can barely eat or drink and when he does the panic begins to set in. I, being a qualified nurse have been looking after him but with only one income in our household we can not afford all that my father requires, most importantly an oxygen concentrator as the cylinders will not help long term due to having them refilled.
He is aware his time is nearing the end and all I would like to do is make the last bit of what time he has left easier. Hospitals can no...
