Help us save the Durbanville Bunnies

For years, unwanted pet rabbits have been abandoned at Durbanville Cemetery. What began as a few dumped bunnies has grown into a vulnerable colony of domestic rabbits trying to survive in a place that was never safe or suitable for them.

These are not wild animals. They are abandoned pets left to fend for themselves.

Recently, the situation became even more heartbreaking when rabbits were reportedly hit with golf clubs, pelted with stones, and shot with BB guns. Some suffered devastating injuries, including broken legs and pelvises, and a few sadly had to be humanely euthanised.

That was the moment we knew that relocation is the safest long-term option.
