My name is Phil, and I am an independent radio broadcaster from South Africa and a prostate cancer survivor.
In 2016 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Thankfully today I am in remission, but that experience changed the way I see life. It reminded me that every day is a gift and that we should use our voices to bring hope to others.
For the past two years I have been living and working from a small caravan, which I converted into my radio studio. From there I built and operated my independent online radio station, Radio X5, sharing music, conversations, and stories with listeners across South Africa and beyond.
But now that chapter is coming to an end.
The sale of the caravan, where I resided and operated my radio studio, signifies the loss of both my home and studio.
Instead of giving up, I decided to turn this moment into something bigger.
