REBUILDING DAD'S HOME — ONE ROOM AT A TIME

My dad is getting older and currently lives in an elderly care facility in a nearby town. His house was rented out in the hope that the property could be maintained while he received the care he needs.

Unfortunately, things went very wrong.

The tenants disappeared virtually overnight. Before leaving, a number of my dad's belongings were allegedly sold or taken. The property was also left vulnerable, and people gained access to the house and removed copper pipes, plumbing fittings, taps, electrical wiring and other items.

The damage they left behind is extensive.

I have photographs and video documenting the condition of the property and what happened. But rather than allowing the house to deteriorate further, I've decided to try to rebuild it.

This comes at a major turning point in my own life as well.
