Help Reece hear

I am Rene, mother to my 12 year old, down syndrome little boy, Reece.  We have been down a very long road in trying to establish if Reece had any hearing problems.  He is non-verbal and after a year of speech therapy we thought it might have something to do with his ears, in addition to his syndrome.  Having any kind of tests done has come with it's challenges as a result.  We first had grommets fitted as we were told that he had fluid that needed draining, in the hope this would make a difference. This has had no effect and we then had to have his hearing tested under sedation. After many fights with Discovery Health to try and get them to pay for the hospitilisation of this procedure, they cancelled our hospital plan as they said I had not disclosed he had a hearing problem, which at the time had not been established as we had just had grommets fitted, in the hope it would solve the problem, and weren't aware that there were any further issues.
