Rene Runs for Rainbows

Hello there!

I come to you with a heart brimming with hope and determination. My name is René Memmel, and I'm embarking on the incredible journey of running Comrades 2024. But this run means more to me than just kilometers on the road; it's an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

I've chosen to dedicate this endeavor to Rainbows & Smiles, an organization that holds a special place in my heart. They pour boundless love and care into children with cancer, showing them that even in the darkest of times, there is light and joy to be found.

As I prepare to tackle the daunting 85.91km of Comrades, I carry with me a goal: to raise R8591 for Rainbows & Smiles. It's not just a number; it's a symbol of our collective commitment to making a tangible difference in these children's lives… and it's how far I will need to run for these precious children.

I know that during those grueling moments of the race, when every muscle screams in protest and doubt creeps into my mind, I'll draw strength from the faces of the cancer children...
