About This Campaign

Renicke was admitted to hospital due to a rash. On the day of her discharge she had to receive her medication orally. She choked during the administration of the medicine and this lead to her vomiting. She asperated (inhaled) vomit which in turn caused her to go into cardiac arrest. Luckily the Dr was in the room two doors down and he rushed to her..
It took a long time to resuscitate her and we waited four hours before anyone could tell us if she lived or passed on. The longest four hours of our lives! SHE CHOSE LIFE!
She was moved to the ICU unit and put on a ventilator, two days later they found that she had a pneumothorax (an air bubble between her lung and ribs, that causes lung collapse), the Dr had to put a draining pipe in. Another two days later our Dr decided she has to be transferred via helicopter to a hospital that can save her life 200 kms from our home.
She was immediately put on a stronger life support machine when she arrived. She was also sedated from there on as her body needed all it's strength to fight to...
