Woodstock is one of the most vibrant street art districts in Africa. Artists from around the world transformed its walls into powerful visual stories that celebrated creativity, culture, and social expression.

Over the years, many of these murals have faded, been damaged, or disappeared due to development.

Now is the time to bring the walls back to life.

This initiative aims to restore iconic murals, commission new artworks, and empower a new generation of artists while turning Woodstock once again into a global open-air street art gallery.

The project is led by Juma Mkwela, founder of Juma Art Tours and pioneer of street art walking tours in Cape Town. For over a decade, Juma and his team has shared the stories behind Woodstock’s murals with visitors from around the world.

Through this campaign, we will revive the spirit of Woodstock’s street art movement and ensure it continues to inspire future generations.
