Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read Ricardo’s story.
Ricardo is my husband, a wonderful father to his daughter, an awesome grandfather to his only grandson and well loved by all his family and friends.
Our lives changed drastically on the 22/03/2023. Ricardo did not feel well, and I immediately took him to our GP. Ricardo’s Hemoglobin (HB) count was dangerously low on 8.5 and he was admitted at HCU at a private hospital in Polokwane. During his admission he received 24 units of blood to stabilize his HB, but at no success. His HB count dropped to below 5, and he was rushed to theatre for a camera endoscopy. A small tear was found in his lower intestines, and it was repaired, but Ricardo kept on losing blood. He was transferred to a medical centrum in JHB on the 28/03/2023.
A fully equipped ambulance was arranged as Ricardo was totally depended on oxygen. On route to the medical centru...
