HELP DEWAN CONTINUE HIS JOURNEY TOWARDS HEALING
Our precious husband and devoted father, Dewan Terblanche, is only 31 years old. He has always been healthy, active and dedicated to his family and his learners. But everything changed suddenly at the start of the third school term in 2026.
What we initially believed was pharyngitis quickly became something far more serious. On 25 July 2026 at 6:00 a.m., Dewan asked me to take him to the emergency room because he was extremely unwell.
After numerous blood tests and examinations by several doctors, Dewan was admitted to hospital with dangerously high CRP levels and no clear explanation for the inflammation. He was initially diagnosed with severe viral ulcers in his throat, but by his third day in hospital, he could no longer swallow even water, and his CRP levels were barely improving.
Further investigations revealed that Dewan is immunocompromised, with low white blood cell, lymphocyte and immunoglobulin levels. His haematologist recommended a six-month course of monthly IV immunotherapy to help strengthen his immune syst...
