Robbie's Backyard Ultra Challenge for Swallow's Nest

Swallows Nest is the private home of Jeanette Birrell, where abandoned, abused, neglected and special-needs children can find a temporary home until they are matched with their new adoptive family, reunited with their own biological family or placed into foster care. Jeanette has taken care of 208 babies in the last 21 years, and is one of the founding members of Tshwane Place Of Safety Association, which was started with the vision of giving each crisis child love and care in a private home so that they can be given a great start before they move on to their permanent placements.

Robbie Gien - a Sales Team Leader for Pnet (South Africa's leading online recruitment platform), Iron Man athlete and running enthusiast - has selected Swallow's Nest as the beneficiary for funds he's raising by tackling the Backyard Ultra race taking place at Van Gaalen's in the North West Province on Sat 20 July 2024.
