Rohandre’s Story 
On 30 September 2024 – Rohandre was born on 30 weeks weighing 1.5kg’s and 41cm. 
The first night they picked up that his infection marker is 37 and needs to be below 4 for him to be safe. The doctors picked up that he had gotten meningitis from my amniotic fluid as it was infected. 
Till this day they cannot tell us what caused the infection after sending my placenta away for tests. 
They then sent him for scans and blood works. Where they discovered that he has hydrocephalus Grade 3 on the right side of the brain and Grade 4 on the left side. As well as his back left lobe is under developed. 
Due to the small amount of paediatric neurosurgeons in our area he had to be transferred to Unitas hospital in Centurion. 
After his transfer the doctor decided that he wanted to operate the next day to put in a draining system as a temporary solution. As he was to small to undergo the VP- Shunt operation.
