Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times our family has ever faced.
My brother, just 26 years old, was involved in a devastating incident while in Dubai that left him with a severe traumatic brain injury. He spent two weeks in a coma, fighting for his life. During that time, he underwent multiple brain surgeries, including a procedure where doctors had to remove a part of his skull to relieve the swelling and save his life.
By some miracle, he made it through.
He has now spent over three weeks in ICU and nearly two months in rehabilitation. While we are incredibly grateful for how far he has come, his journey to recovery is far from over. He still requires intensive, specialised rehabilitation during this critical window — a time where the right care can make all the difference in his ability to recover and regain his independence.
He is now being flown back to South Africa, as his medical aid has been fully exhausted and further treatment will continue here.
Unfortunately, we are now facing urgent and overwhelming...
