Rural animal assist

We run a very rural Veterinary Practice based between East London and the Transkei Wild Coast . Over the years we have seen many animals , of all species,  that the owners care for lovingly , coming to our Clinic for Veterinary help but having no means to actually pay for the help they need. Most owners will offer a what they can afford, be it R 50 or a live chicken,  piglet or some Vegetables, just to get help for their beloved animal , and we as a practice accept their donations and bear the cost of the treatments as much as we are able . Unfortunately drug companies and other suppliers do not accept this form of payment  ! It is rapidly becoming unaffordable for us to continue to offer this community service , and the sad reality is that without financial assistance it will not matter how much the people care for and want to do their best for the animal , be it for illness, sterilisation,  fractured limbs , foot rot , heartwater , or one of the many other ailments we see, we will no longer be able to fund the treatment.
