We started this campaign for our family members, Sadie (2) and Jesse (6) Krause, who have been diagnosed with DOCK8 Immunodeficiency Syndrome (Dedicator of Cytokinesis 8), a very rare and life-threatening primary immunodeficiency. Their diagnosis is believed to be among the first identified in South Africa. From the outset, our family came together to fight for their chance at a cure through a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant abroad. All funds raised through this campaign are intended solely for their medical treatment, care, and related needs.

The Journey Ahead – Important Update (12/2025)

DOCK8 deficiency is severe. Without a successful stem cell transplant, it leads to recurrent serious infections, progressive organ damage, and significantly shortened life expectancy. With the right treatment, children can rebuild functional immune systems and live healthy lives.
