Meet Samuel Groenewald (on the right) – an exceptional brother, father and husband. Sammy (or Sam), as he is known by his friends and family, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on 16 December 2022 – devastating news to all who know and love him.
Sam is 52 years young and has endured intense pain, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and weight loss of 25kg within the last 10 months. Being a craftsman in profession – this directly impacted his ability to work. After a visit to his oncologist on 27 September 2023, the Doctor confirmed that the treatment Sammy received did not produce the required results and immediate further treatment is needed.
Throughout this time, Sam has had tremendous support from his family, both emotionally and financially, however, his medical insurance plan provided funds for oncology up to the amount of R300 000 but has been completely depleted and all further treatments will have to be pa...
