Save Chilli's Life

Hi everyone! This is Chilli, a 2 month old Chihuahua x Min Pin pup :)

We rescued her from one of our local rescue groups only a week ago, but she has touched our hearts in ways you cannot imagine. She is a tiny little ball of love who is a bit sassy at times. She is feisty and loves cat toys, chicken, sleeping and licking your face!

On Wednesday during a quick trip to the Vet for suspected kennel cough our world crumbled. What we thought would be a quick trip to the Vet and receiving some medication turned into a specialist recommendation and an urging to go see them immediately. The Veterinarian found a heart murmur which can be quite normal for young pups but unfortunately this case was different. We then booked her into the earliest slot we could to see the specialist, which followed with an echocardiogram and chest x-ray.

She has been diagnosed with PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus) a congenital heart defect that is unfortunately not uncommon. What this diagnosis means is one of her fetal heart valves didnt close naturally after she was born, meaning excess bloo...
