Nightwish has been a part of my soul since the day she was born. I raised her from a foal, and for years, she was my guide, carrying my hopes, dreams, and fears. Making the decision to find her a new home in 2021 was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I did it with a promise: if she ever needed me, she would always have a place to come back to.

That call came much sooner than I ever expected. Her previous owner needed to move to Cape Town and couldn’t take the horses along, which happened to be at the exact same time we discovered Nightwish was battling cancer (Fibrosarcoma). I am so incredibly grateful for the love and care she received while she was away, but it felt like she was meant to be home for this fight.

The Journey So Far: Her previous owner paid for the first three months of chemo beads, and I’m so happy to say the treatment is working. We’ve seen enough progress to know that a 100% recovery is actually possible. Nightwish is fighting, and she’s doing well.
