Science & Cycling Conference Italy 2024

Hi there! Liezl and Robyn here. We are both completing our MSc in Sport Science at Stellenbosch University and have the opportunity to present our research at a scientific conference in Florence, Italy in June 2024. We have spent almost two years studying the effect of the menstrual cycle and fatigue in cycling performance, and our hope is that our research can contribute to the scarce concrete knowledge that currently exists in female specific studies, especially relating to the menstrual cycle. 

We have a great passion for representing females in the science field, as well as unlocking and sharing the benefits of sport performance knowledge in the field of cycling. Our study included women from all over Stellenbosch and Cape Town, who gave hours of their time to help answer the question of whether the menstrual cycle phase and the changes in hormone levels have an influence on your performance.
