Sea Turtle Conservation Programme and Medical Care

Dear Friends and Supporters

My name is Tjaart, and I am a 5th-year medical student from South Africa with a passion for making a difference in the world. This July, I have an incredible opportunity to embark on a life-changing journey to Bali, Indonesia, where I will be participating in a medical elective and volunteering with the Bali Sea Turtle Conservation Programme.

International Volunteer HQ’s Sea Turtle Conservation project is located on the small island of Nusa Penida off the southeastern coast of Bali. Here, volunteers like myself will have the chance to gain experience in turtle care and marine conservation while helping to increase the population of these incredible creatures in Indonesia.

During my time in Bali, from July 2nd to August 2nd, 2024, I aim to dedicate myself to two important causes: providing healthcare to impoverished and neglected communities and helping to protect the precious sea turtles of our ocean.
