Send Marc to the Commonwealth Games

My Story

On the 10th of May, my life changed. I receive a phone call from my friend. He breaks the news that I made the South African Fencing team that is heading to Lagos, Nigeria, for the Commonwealth Fencing Championships. At first I did not believe him, but there was my name on the team sheet. 

I did not believe it because I have only been doing Fencing as a sport for a little over two years now. Recently, however, my fencing has markedly improved and I have managed to claim some impressive places at National and Provincial competitions.  At the Eastern Cape Fencing Championships, I won bronze at the Senior Men's Epee. At the South African Fencing Championships in Cape Town, I managed to place 4th in both Senior Men's Team Epee and Senior Men's Sabre. My best result was winning silver for the Senior Men's Team Sabre. My fencing continues to improve day-by-day!
