My life took a sudden turn on the 17th of January 2025 when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. At first, it felt like a bad dream but as each day passed by, the supposed bad dream rapidly unfolded into a reality. A reality that I could have never been ready for. In a split of a second, from being a woman full of dreams and hope for the future, to sinking into drastic physical and emotional changes. To make the situation even heavier, this happened a few months after the untimely death of my sister. Despite all this, I have remained positive and resilient, courageously navigating countless medical options and the emotional roller-coster that come with such a life changing experience. I have continued to face each day with courage and hope, drawing strength from my faith, friends and family. Cancer treatment has not only been exhausting but also financially overwhelming. With medical bills accumulating, the in and outs of hospital, living expenses away from home and at the same time ensuring that my three children under the care of my helper are provided for.
