Shine a light on Malvern Children's Home

Hi, thank you for coming to our page.

My name is 'Phumi', and my friends and I live at the Malvern Children’s Home (a Programme of KZN Christian Social Services, NPO 009-231 |PBO No. 930 001 197) in Durban.

The home has been a haven for us – a place of warmth, love, safety, and second chances. It cares for my friends and I who have been orphaned, abandoned, or neglected, all between the ages of 2 and 18. To us, this isn’t “just” a shelter. It’s our only home – where we sleep safely at night, eat warm, nourishing meals, dream big, laugh, play, heal, and grow into the adults we are meant to be.

Our home relies heavily on the kindness of individuals and companies whose generosity makes this all possible.

But right now, we’re facing one of our toughest crises yet.

Our electricity and water account with eThekwini Municipality has reached over R1 million.
Despite every effort from our carers to manage costs and prioritize payments, this burden is simply too big to carry alone – and it threatens...
